Myths of Motherhood

PDF  Print  E-mail this to a friend

Becoming a mother is supposed to be one of the happiest and most rewarding times in a woman's life. But it is also the toughest. The following are some myths that are baseless and don't help us as women to feel that we are normal no matter what we go though:

* Motherhood is a woman's ultimate fulfilment.

* A mother instantly feels love for her baby.

* A woman will instinctively know how to be a mother.

* A mother is selfish if she expresses her own needs.

* Motherhood is romantic.

*Breast is always best and breastfeeding is easy and does not hurt.

*A mother will have plenty of time on her hands when the baby sleeps.
